The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is seeking a Contractual Compliance Manager. This is a new position reporting to the Director of Compliance.

Based in Marina del Rey, CA, USA the Contractual Compliance Manager will conduct studies and audits on the accuracy of the WHOIS directory and make recommendations for changes. WHOIS services provide public access to data on registered domain names, which currently includes contact information for Registered Name Holders.

End User Support Analyst

LAMP Developer

Manager, Regional Relations - Asia

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has immediate job opportunities for Manager, Regional Relations in the following World regions:

There will be an appointment into each region, continuing ICANN's commitment to the support of local internet communities around the world.

These positions report to the Vice President for Strategic and Global Partnerships and will join a growing network of similarly skilled individuals.

You will work with other members of the Global Partnerships team to act on behalf of the organization with regional stakeholders, forums, initiatives and needs as they relate to ICANN's responsibilities. This includes the analysis and creation of reports on regional and local developments relevant to ICANN's business plan. The incumbents will also provide input to ICANN's global strategy and prepare associated position papers relevant to this.

The successful applicants will be committed to a disciplined communications system that systematically and regularly updates ICANN on issues relevant to the region as they relate to ICANN's respective responsibilities. The preferred individuals will be outstanding negotiators, able to influence resolution on issues in an environment with conflicting stakeholder views. They must also have outstanding verbal and written communications skills and be fluent in English and at least one other local language of the Region. They will be extremely motivated with strong leadership qualities. They will also be highly organized, politically aware and astute in the area of diplomacy. An ability to work with minimal supervision under pressure and to deadlines is essential. The successful individuals will possess an advanced degree in international relations, international business and/or an appropriate technical qualification, and demonstrated experience in the international arena (private and or public sector). At least 5 years post graduate experience working in an international legal, intergovernmental, multi-stakeholder, civil society, and/or business environment is required, together with a broad understanding of technical issues involving the Internet. Familiarity with the issues regarding Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs) is particularly useful. This is an outstanding opportunity for highly energized team players. Must be able to travel throughout Asia.

Media Relations Manager

Organizational Reviews Executive

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is creating a new position for an Organizational Reviews Executive. This newly created position will be responsible for managing the ongoing process of organizational review at ICANN. ICANN’s bylaws require that each significant structure of its leading-edge multi-stakeholder organization be reviewed every three years. (See http://www.icann.org/reviews/). The review typically reassesses the role of that organization, and any possible changes in operation that would allow it to better meet its objectives.

Registrar Liaison Manager

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has an immediate job opening for a Registrar Liaison Manager at its offices in Marina Del Rey, California USA. The primary responsibilities of the position are to support gTLD registrars by answering questions and providing advice when disputes arise, to coordinate the application and renewal processes, and to support registrars in their efforts to be successful while complying with agreements and ICANN policy.

Senior Director - International Policy Development

The Situation

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is seeking a Senior Director, International Policy Development. This position reports directly to the Vice President, International Policy Development. The preferred location is at the ICANN headquarters in Marina del Rey, California, but candidates based in ICANN's other locations such as Washington, DC; Brussels, BE or Sydney, AU also will be considered.

ICANN's work is complex and fascinating, and the corporation is filled with tremendously bright and interesting individuals.

The Position

This position is responsible for supporting the development of global policies that advance ICANN's mission of preserving the security, stability and interoperability of the Internet.

This includes: managing global policy activities and providing direction and advice to multidisciplinary teams and consultants; developing and implementing strategies to advance policy objectives; managing budgets, operational plans and projects; managing internal and external policy communication plans; and working with ICANN's global participants to set and deliver on policy agendas. ICANN's policies are developed through bottom-up, consensus-based processes involving diverse stakeholders world-wide.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a J.D., MBA or equivalent, and at least 10 years of policy development, advocacy and program management experience in positions and/or organizations accountable to multiple constituencies.

This person has experience planning and organizing programs involving multiple participants, and possesses exemplary oral and written communications skills. S/he has significant experience with both national and international policy making activities, and has a sound understanding of the Internet's basic infrastructure and the domain name marketplace. Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: registrar and registry operations; domain name markets and revenue generation practices; and domain name dispute resolution activities.

S/he is a self starter with a demonstrated ability to successfully manage and complete multiple projects contemporaneously. S/he has a service orientation, excellent time management skills and a tolerance for ambiguity and fluid environments. S/he has strong quantitative and analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams and independently. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and a strong drive to get things done.

Translation Coordinator

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has an immediate opportunity for a Translation Coordinator. The position will act as a consultant to the organization on a renewable contract for approximately 40 hours/week.

Working within a dynamic and fast-growing organisation, this position reports to the Corporate Affairs department.

JOB DUTIES:

REQUIREMENTS:

Professionalism -­Thorough knowledge of language issues; ability tooperate in a cost-effective manner ensuring an optimal mix of outsourcing and internal resources and to serve as final arbiter on technical issues arising in the translation function; and analytical skills.

Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor the work of others; ability to make timely decisions; ability to coach, mentor and develop staff and encourage good performance.

Communication-­ Excellent drafting ability and communication skills,

Computer skills - Strong knowledge of the provision of contractual services in translation. Knowledge of a documentation and staff monitoring system preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced degree in Translation, Social Sciences, Finance, Business Administration, Management or a related field.

Bachelor’s Degree with a relevant combinationof academic and professional qualifications.

8- 10 years of progressively responsible translation experience, of which at least five years in an international organisation (public or private) and three years of demonstrated, successful supervisory or managerial experience, or a combination of language-related experience and equivalent knowledge and experience in business administration and management in international organizations, may be accepted.

Languages:

English is the working language of ICANN. Fluency in English, both written and oral, to a high standard is required. Working knowledge of one additional UN official language is desired. Knowledge of additional UN official languages would be an asset.
